Mana Blight is generally thought to be an affliction of scholars. The most commonly reported cases are among Priests and Wizards, and their students. Though, some holy knights and rangers have also reported the affliction.
The Blight is believed to be a parasite of unknown origin which feeds on its host, causing a significant decrease in their reported abilities over time.
The first phase of the Blight is a progressive decrease in the ability to cast spells or use faculties. This decrease continues until the victim has nothing left to provide the parasite.
At that point, phase two attacks the intelligence and wisdom of the afflicted, causing it to permanently erode on a weekly basis.
The only known treatment is a high dose of manabane for a period of not less than 7 days. Such treatments have been known to arrest the parasites progress, but not reverse it.
