Circle of 8

Supposedly an organization of wizards within the Dweomersecte, the Circle of 8 is believed to be dedicated to the principle of neutral promotion of the arcane arts. That is not believed to be its actual name and wherever it has been found, the stylized 8 always appears to be written on its side.

Stories allege that it was founded by Archmage Balakarde after he was force to agree to the Censure, he was later asked to step down by his fellow council members who believed that he had lost his mind and become obsessive after the death of his sister.

There are only seven current members of the circle: Mordenkainen, Drawmij, Otto, Bigby, Otiluke, Tenser, Nystul, and Rary. Bucknard, a previous member, has vacated his spot. It has not been filled.

Drawmij's tower is relatively short by Westrun standards, but it holds the distinction of having a vast basement that extends beneath the sea. These lower levels reportedly have glass walls that allow those within them to observe the denizens on the sea floor. Rumors persist that Drawmij has contact with mermen and sea elves. Still more rumors persist that Drawmij has the use of a vessel which travels underwater as easily as upon its surface.

It is said that Drawmij is obsessed with time and the passage of it. He has spent most of his years researching and developing means for using time as a tool and as a weapon.

A member of Circle of 8, Drawmij is most interested in preserving the status quo of power among the powerful wizards of Erenth.

Magister Bigby

Arrogant : Proud. Level-headed.
motto : Try to slow down.

Once an evil hedge wizard, it is said that Bigby's encounter with the Dweomersecte showed him the error of his ways. While he cannot necessarily be called "good," Bigby is very invested in preserving the balance of good and evil. Since he believes that the amount of evil in the universe outweighs the good, he is often "forced" to side with the good.

He is a member of the Circle of 8.

Bigby has an abiding love for the black wine of Southrun and has opened a thriving import business interest in Westrun which is spreading Bigby's kafe across the Eight Kingdoms.
