Indil is said to have begun as a spirit of the old world, who loved the company of others and quickly realized his powers relative to those he met. In his youth, he was a king, rapidly rising to control a great tribe of people and gaining the acclaim of his subjects. But Indil could not be troubled with the maintenance of his kingdom, and avoided all effort and work necessary to keep it. He eventually lost all, becoming known as the King Who Was.
Despite his laziness, Indil is not without power and intelligence. In fact he is markedly stronger and more brilliant than many others, but his chief weakness remains his motivation to do more than the first 20% of the effort he needs to achieve 80% of the results.
