The Book of the Archmagi of the Dweomersecte vol. 14

  • 4903 Xaros II the Seeker - He is said to have had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He spent so many long hours at study that he was eventually betrayed by the failure of his eyes. So stubborn was he, that he would not avail himself of any healing that did not come from the works of magic that he was able to conduct. A stubborn man, but still widely regarded among the fellows of his order, he did much to restore confidence in the Archmage.

  • 4929 Xaros III the Less - The third and least regarded of the Archmages to call himself Xaros, as near as anyone can tell, he spent the majority of his time living off of the good will and scholarship of his forebears while he himself was widely regarded as reveler and debaucher of women.

  • 4945 Arepos VIII - The seventh Archmage to style himself after Arepos the Great. Also a Treftish man. He was the first proponent of the Ley and Well Postulate, having spent a lifetime in search of concrete proof of these concepts and who died before finding irrefutable proof. Nevertheless, his Postulate became the dominant magical theory and persists in the present. It is held by all scholars of any ability. He died when his ox cart rolled into a ravine and landed on top of him. It is widely regarded as a mundane death unsuited for a being of such power.

  • 4972 Ghrylan the Ancient - A witch of Northrun, Ghrylan was only 15 when she ascended to the Archmage's Chair, making her name something of a play at humor. During Ghrylan's tenure she successfully prosecuted the Wars of Cinder and Silence against the Pyromancers, but only after losing the Archmage's seat at Alduldaros. She remained in her position for a total of 28 years before being assassinated by her own Primus -- Tod.
