Song 4: The Song of Erenth
When the Great Work of the Ere of All
went forward,
the hammer falls of his might
sent burning Embers
of unquenchable fire in all directions
and to this day they burn brightly
as distant lights in the Void.
The forge itself burns
with a great heat and light
so that all children call it the Sun.
The inexhaustible lantern
still burns at night
and it is named Moon.
So the Great Work was crafted in the forge
and when it was done,
it was tempered in a great pool of water.
The pool became steam
that rose to become clouds.
Those clouds bring the rains upon the lands
in their seasons
and they also fill the seas and lakes.
And thus was Erenth made.
