Order of Penitent Knights of Poverty

The chapel of the peerage is in the city of Diestamp of Treft.

The Knights of Poverty have foresworn all personal wealth and instead have pledged themselves to safeguarding the wealth of the innocent. The Knights believe that through their efforts they will eliminate theivery altogether.

The Oxmen are unlike most other peerages in that they have a whole religious order of clerics attached to their cause, though none of these clerics may attain tenth level by canon law. The Penitent Fathers of Poverty provide all manner of accounting and other needs for the Order, enabling one Paladin to remain in each of the capital cities of the Eight Kingdoms, plus one in the Provinces, one in the Southrun city of Tradestop, one in the Eastrun city of Shu, and one who is in Peakshadow.

Additionally, the Oxmen have a large group of Paladin and non-Paladin aspirants who are pledged to their cause and while not directly a part of the order, provide the muscle and do the common guarding needed at their affiliated structures and branches. They guard shipments over land and sea and safeguard the operations across the Four Lands. They number into the thousands. These men are called the Oxmen Auxiliaries and most are waiting for their opportunity to join the Peerage.

The symbol of the Peerage is a man carrying a lance on ox back.
