The Vastness

Also known as the Glacial Frontier, the Vastness is that huge body of Ice and Snow in Northrun which covers land and sea, alike.

It appears to be a huge wall rising from the plains and overshadowing the mountains which are frozen into and along its length. In some areas, huge chunks of the ice have calved off and can be seen floating far south in the seas, while other sections have crashed down into valley floors and begun to melt into giant pools. Meltwater from the Vastness irrigates the frigid expanses of Northrun in countless streams. Far to the south, many streams join up into mighty raging rivers that penetrate into Westrun and Eastrun, and some which make it all the way to the Inner and Outer Seas.

While the area atop the wall would seem to be devoid of the plant life needed to sustain living creatures, legends agree to tell of Kingdoms of Giants, hairy snow serpents, viscious ice dragons, white furred bears and even wooled elepants which play across its heights.
