City of Treft

The City of Treft is located in the Kingdom of the same name in the Land of Westrun.

Also known as the City of Coins, it is known far and wide for the quality of its silversmiths and especially its minters. But is is also known to a lesser degree for its sheep herds and wool production.

Physically, the city is irregularly shaped and surrounded by walls which are continuously being built and re-built. Visitors often claim that the city never appears the same way twice. Some 30,000 people call Treft home.

A most curious city, Treft often surprises visitors with what many assume is its pious character. The chiming of bells can be heard throughout the day with hundreds of citizens running to and fro at their pealing. These citizens, however, are actually attending meetings and assemblies. So many in fact, that many merchants from afar correctly marvel that any commerce can be conducted there, at all. If Treft can be said to have any religion, it is a deep reverence for their democracy and their own citizenship, though perhaps only half of its population are actually citizens -- even those that are not find a great deal of protection and liberty within its walls.

The most famous resident of Treft is Otiluke the Wizard. The King of Treft is known as the First Citizen and his chair is currently held by Agon Damaskos.
