Ulric the Patriarch is a Sage in his own right and though he heads the Church in Westrun, would be regarded as such even without his ecclesiastical authority.
As an accomplished musician of some regard, and a master of eight languages, Ulric is well-read on a variety of topics. He also contributed, in his early career, several works on Halflings, Gnomes and Elves.
