Song 10: The Song of Generations
These are the generations
of all that is and all that has been.
First there was the Ere of All
who was without beginning
and shall know no end.
He has neither maker nor destroyer,
neither liege nor peer.
Ever he loveth beauty and truth and good.
From him comes Erenes
and the Aenir which know not death.
From him also comes the Forge,
the Lantern, the Embers upon high
and all of Erenth below.
From him comes the seed-bearing fruit,
the grass, the trees and those things
such as creep, walk, swim or fly.
All of these knoweth not, save to consume,
to rest, to grow and to make others
after their kind.
For that beauty sought the Aenirasa,
forsakers of their estate.
Long they lived upon its face,
cladding themselves with substance
as if raiment.
In due time they were joined by those
fashioned of the Aenire
to honor the Ere of All.
They are numbered seven:
Faere, Entwe, Holbyt, Gnummor,
Dwenir, Vyrum and Urok.
These are rightly called the Elders of Erenth.
Then were sent the Aenirede,
to bring wrath and who now must tarry,
though they still long for Erenes, their first estate.
Last will come Hunamir,
final born of Erenth,
those alone which are fashioned
by the hand of the Ere of All.
Theirs will be the last of all that is
and all that has been,
and the beginning of all that should be
and will forever more.
