The Ferryman is one of the Aenire. It is he who guides the boat that leads mortals from Erenth to their fate. Humans are taken to the Judgement Seat where they will have to account for their thoughts, words and deeds. He also shuttles the Besnir to the worlds prepared for them, where they will rejoin their spirits to those of their primogenitors.
The Ferryman was once named Majes and was sometimes called the brother of Jelas. By his interference in and communication with the world of Erenth, the Besnir learned the secrets of what is commonly called magic. He stands 25 feet tall and is impassive, about his duties, accepting them as his just desserts for his actions, and navigating the river Hyburleth is preferable to him, to having to remain on Erenth.
