Rath the Burning gave his name to the Rathor, a tribe of Westrun in the early years of the 7th Age. He gives his name to the City and Kingdom of Rath now.
He is said to have burned with a zeal for war. His devotees painted themselves to invoke his protection and his blessing in battle. His axe is Chestsplitter and it strikes armored foes as though they were unclothed. His shield is Foeward and makes him immune to all missiles.
His cult was accreted into the pantheon of the Grand Temple of Heaven. He is alleged to have descended from the children of Heimos, but the earliest mentions of this deity predate the rise of Heimos in 3700ey.
