In the far East of Sumerval where the roaring of the seas could be heard over the top of Hemfirtis, one of the Fair Nefilnir still lived. He was called Nimdar and he was brother to Nolgar the Strong who warred in the days of Holgarth. Now Nimdar interceded not in the wars of the Urok, for he deemed them a folly; and he fled from the sacrilege that was offered to the Black Traveler. But Nimdar was a mighty warrior who held a stone hammer in one hand and a stone axe in the other. Against his foul brethren he had once fought as an ally to Baere the Green. So that he was greatly loved by her and called Faylakus, Warden of the East, and Baere never failed to send him gifts from the bounty of the land.
